Thank you to everyone that played, donated to and volunteered at the Devani Charities Golf Tournament on Sat, Aug 18 at the Markham Green Golf Club. All net proceeds will support the charities our father founded; the Devani Charities in India.

The event was a huge success and you were all a big part. The tournament itself, via green fees, hole sponsorships and donations raised $4,000 which was more than double our goal. And, as announced, to stretch the impact of those donations even further our mom has generously decided to double every dollar donated, bringing our total raised funds to $8,000!

In December 2012, our mother travelled to India (at personal expense) and visited theSaint Hardyal Educational And Orphans Welfare Society. SHEOWS focuses on caring for elderly people that have been neglected and abandoned by their own family. As a family that lost our father and miss him dearly every single day, we can’t even fathom how people can do this. But are happy that we can help those in need, if only financially.

All $8000 raised at the event was donated directly to the charity. Not a single cent was spent on anything administrative. We have been told the donation will go towards the yearly salary for two additional staff members so SHEOWS can take in even more individuals. It’s amazing to think that a round of golf, some sponsorships and a raffle will change a handful of lives of those in need forever.
