Devani Charities was a cornerstone of our father’s life. For him, charity was not just about fundraising and donations, but it was also about donating one’s time, effort and love. Throughout his life, he took an active role in helping others, whether it meant visiting senior citizens at retirement homes in Toronto or feeding impoverished children in Delhi. 

He took great pride and passion in his charitable activities, while constantly motivating us to make charity a priority in our lives as well. He did not believe in donations being subject to administrative costs, as his philosophy was to treat charity with complete selflessness; to give and truly not expect anything in return. 

In that spirit, he created the Devani charities, named after his three sons focused on helping those in need in India. After the 2012 golf tournament, we decided to create a fourth charity, in our father's name, that supports the Saint Hardyal Educational And Orphans Welfare Society in India. SHEOWS focuses on caring for elderly people that have been neglected and abandoned by their own family. As a family that lost our father and miss him dearly every single day, we can’t even fathom how people can do this. But are happy that we can help those in need, if only financially.
